National Biennial of Light Art Austria 2010
The National Biennial of Light art is Austria in 2010 first time in 2010 to view an exhibition of contemporary art, which is the use of the material light in the foreground.
General
The first "National Biennial Light art Austria 2010 "with the motto" private light in public spaces "and is part of the action LALA 2010 in Austria. The LALA means Linz (Austria) and Langley (Austria), whre the two initiators of their studios. Linz has been the cultural capital of 2009, with the Lentos, Ars Electronca Center and the Bruckner House already well established in the cultural landscape. Langenezersdorf has the Hanak Museum and the Museum Charoux (Anton Hanak, and Siegfried Charoux are two major Austrian sculptor) a place in the Austrian museum landscape. From 13 April 2010, under the National Biennial public spaces more urban locations for international artists. Here, the sensitivity of the artist stands in the respective situations of places, streets, public buildings in the foreground, and not least the Bezugnehmung to the people who frequent these places or simply work there. Already-made works that are delivered in individually selected public space into a new context and new, just developed works are equally possible. The keyword light art, public and private spheres in the center of the curatorial interest provided the artistic director of the First National Biennial of Light Art Austria 2010 Martina Schettina are from Langley and Manfred Kielnhofer from Linz.
The venues of the Biennale as places serving public places selected group of the artists themselves. There are no restrictions, so that every artist has the maximum possible freedom of movement for his work. Accordingly, the heterogeneous reactions of the visitors is expected, because they are rapidly into captive audience. Also the contact with art can be familiar or under this Biennale piloted.

This first National Biennial of light art in Austria has an ambitious goal, the construction an interdisciplinary interface between society and art, which arises from the spontaneity and the temporary status of the situation. With the unexpected confrontation of the audience with artistic positions in public places, this first all-Austrian Biennale of light art with international participation declines also very aware of the concept in 1965 by Joseph Beuys in Dusseldorf executed action "as you explain to the dead hare Images" at but the 'unbiased public''a direct dialogue with the art of urban life and allows vice versa.
artist
Among the selected artists for the artistic presentation and the presentation of existing works can integrate both special representatives of the light art, and artists that once the material "light" as a new component in their work.
